Daniel Alfredo Burleson, a 20-year-old man from Iowa, was arrested at a bar over the weekend for being intoxicated and under the legal age. Burleson also was charged for possessing a fake ID, which just so happened to be the iconic “McLovin” ID from the popular film Superbad, according to the Iowa City Press-Citizen.
This is one way that you can automatically become a legend — and that sh*t-eating grin in his mugshot certainly doesn’t hurt.
Burleson was suspected of having alcohol after having slurred speech and bloodshot watery eyes while speaking with police and he admitted to having vodka in his drink before the McLovin ID was spotted in his wallet.
From the report:
Police said when the officer confronted Burleson, he admitted that the drink had vodka in it and refused to show the officer his ID. Detectives said he was then taken outside of the bar and showed officers his real ID, which confirmed he was under the age of 21. Officers said they asked Burleson for his fake ID, to which he responded he didn’t have one. However, when Burleson went through his wallet, police said they could see his “fake Hawaii ID with the name ‘McLovin DOB 06/03/1981.”
Burleson was arrested and was charged with public intoxication, possession of a fake ID, possession of alcohol while underage and being in a bar after 10 p.m. while underage.
When he was asked how he got a hold of the fake ID, he simply told authorities that he had purchased the item on Amazon. It seems to be very clear that none of the arresting officers are fans of stoner comedy.
As you might expect, Seth Rogan caught wind of the story and immediately shared a comment.
“My work here is done,” the actor commented on Twitter.
Sometimes the world really can be an amazing place.
