Hunter Biden has found himself in the middle of the ongoing political battle between President Donald Trump and seemingly everyone else in the nation’s capital. The son of former Vice President Joe Biden has been a frequent target of Trump for previous dealings with Ukraine businesses.

That connection led Trump to make a controversial phone call to the president of Ukraine where he asked for the country to open an investigation into Biden’s dealings.

While Hunter Biden has remained quiet on the matter, he finally broke his silence with an exclusive interview with ABC News. During the interview, Biden admits that it was “poor judgement” to be involved in any way, but he denies doing any wrongdoing.

“In retrospect, look, I think that it was poor judgment on my part. Is that I think that it was poor judgment because I don’t believe now, when I look back on it — I know that there was — did nothing wrong at all,” said Biden told Good Morning America. “However, was it poor judgment to be in the middle of something that is…a swamp in—in—in many ways? Yeah.”

“I gave a hook to some very unethical people to act in illegal ways to try to do some harm to my father. That’s where I made the mistake. So I take full responsibility for that. Did I do anything improper? No, not in any way. Not in any way whatsoever.”

EXCLUSIVE: Hunter Biden says he doesn't regret serving on board of Ukrainian gas company.

"What I regret is not taking into account that there would be a Rudy Giuliani and a president…that would be listening to this—this ridiculous conspiracy idea." https://t.co/KIKuD9nXP4 pic.twitter.com/x8Nx5QscHm

“I’m here. I’m here and I’m working and I’m living my life,” Biden added. “Hiding in plain sight, I guess.” “Did I make a mistake? Well, maybe in the grand scheme of things, yeah. But did I make a mistake based upon some ethical lapse? Absolutely not.”

Will this stop Trump from attacking Biden? Almost certainly not. It will, however, give the Bidens an opportunity to redirect the narrative.
