The Rays vs. Astros kicks off a busy day in the MLB Postseason with Game 1 of the ALDS on Friday, October 4. Throughout the day, there will be four games played as the postseason rolls on. Houston enters the game at Minute Maid Park as a slight -220 favorite over Tampa Bay.
Game 1 of the ALDS brings us an exciting pitching matchup with Houston rolling out Justin Verlander while Tampa Bay will rely on Tyler Glasnow.
Verlander leads the star-studded Houston rotation which will go with Gerrit Cole in Game 2 on Saturday and Zack Greinke in Monday’s Game 3.
“As long as I’ve got the type of top-end rotation, then I certainly firmly believe in the starting pitcher setting the tone and doing all the things that a normal, traditional starting pitcher would do … I love the three at the top of our rotation, and I’ll take that model every day,” Houston manager AJ Hinch said, via ESPN.com.
