Summer Walker is one of the breakout stars in the music industry and the Atlanta-based artist is showing no signs of slowing down after releasing her star-studded debut album Over It on Friday, October 4. Included on the album are features from Drake, Usher, Jhene Aiko, Bryson Tiller, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, 6LACK, and PARTNEXTDOOR.
Receiving a Drake co-sign is a huge break for any up-and-coming artist, and for Summer it was as easy as reading a DM.
“I think [Drake] slid into the DMs and was like, ‘I saw your video on a bowling alley monitor—thought it was cool,’” she said, via Billboard. “And then Justice [Baiden, co-founder her record label LVRN] made me ask him [to hop on the song] and he said yes.”
The 23-year-old is signed to LoveRenaissance and Interscope Records.
