A busy weekend of mixed martial arts wraps up on Saturday, September 28 with Bellator MMA’s third show in two days. Bellator 228 will take place at The Forum in Inglewood, California to cap off the weekend with the opening round of the featherweight tournament and a middleweight bout between former UFC champion Lyoto Machida and former Bellator titleholder Gegard Mousasi taking center stage.
The event will also feature the father-son duo of A.J. McKee and Antonio McKee. It marks the first time that a major mixed martial arts promotion has featured a father-son duo at the same event.
Featherweight champion Patricio Freire puts his featherweight championship on the line for his bout with Juan Archuleta in the opening round, while other matches are Darrio Caldwell vs. Henry Corrales, Saul Rogers vs. Daniel Weichel, and Georgi Karakhanyan vs. A.J. McKee.
Ahead of Saturday’s event, all fighters had to step onto the scale for the official weigh-ins.
