Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, a Mexican drug cartel boss who goes by the name “El Mencho”, is a wanted man. The Drug Enforcement Administration announced a reward of up to $10 million for information leading to the arrest of the drugkin, who is a “number one priority” due to the large amounts of drugs he has trafficked into the United States.
According to CBS, El Mencho is behind and responsible for nearly one-third of the drugs in the country while running the Jalisco Nueva Generacion cartel.
The cartel reportedly trafficked cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl-laced heroin. The drugs are stamped with a specific branding with a number of the drugs linked to El Mencho being seized in Chicago. Those drugs have been so toxic that they must be handled with protective gear.
El Mencho is also a very dangerous man, responsible for shooting down a Mexican Army helicopter, killing six people, and being behind a public hanging over the summer, according to the report.
“He has got an enormous amount of weapons, RPGs, 50 caliber weapons. He basically has his own SWAT teams,” Matthew Donahue, the top DEA agent in Mexico said.
El Mencho previously lived in California for three decades before he was arrested on drug charges. After those initial charges, the kingpin was deported back to Mexico where he began the cartel that is behind the “tons” of cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl-laced heroin that have been traced back to the Jalisco Nueva Generacion cartel.
