If you are one of the millions of Facebook users who was attempting to access your Facebook account today, chances are you may have come across some loading and server issues. On Wednesday, August 21, the social media platform was temporarily down with users unable to access their timelines.
The server outage took place one day after Facebook began to unveil its new “Facebook Activity” app.
“We are starting by gradually making Off-Facebook Activity available to people in Ireland, South Korea and Spain. We will continue to roll it out everywhere over the coming months to help ensure it’s working reliably for everyone,” a statement from Facebook read.
The feature allows users to:
- See a summary of the information other apps and websites have sent Facebook through our online business tools, like Facebook Pixel or Facebook Login;
- Disconnect this information from your account if you want to; and
- Choose to disconnect future off-Facebook activity from your account. You can do this for all of your off-Facebook activity, or just for specific apps and websites.
That is all the information that is available at this time. This article will be updated with new and relevant information should it become available at any time. If there is anything that we missed, please feel free to send an email to editor@teamcoed.com and we will respond as soon as possible.
