Wednesday morning was off to a hot start thanks to the latest Twitter tirade from Donald Trump. The president took to his preferred platform of Twitter to unleash a bizarre rant where he quoted Conservative radio show host Wayne Allyn Root, who said Trump is “like the King of Israel” and the “second coming of God.”
“Thank you to Wayne Allyn Root for the very nice words. ‘President Trump is the greatest President for Jews and for Israel in the history of the world, not just America, he is the best President for Israel in the history of the world,” Trump wrote before things really spiraled out of control. “The Jewish people in Israel love him like he’s the King of Israel. They love him like he is the second coming of God…But American Jews don’t know him or like him.
“They don’t even know what they’re doing or saying anymore. It makes no sense! But that’s OK, if he keeps doing what he’s doing, he’s good for all Jews, Blacks, Gays, everyone. And importantly, he’s good for everyone in America who wants a job.’ Wow!”
Trump also unleashed new attacks on Democratic Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib.
The comments from the president following some comments regarding American Jewish voters that were perceived as anti-Semitic. Trump on Tuesday night said that American Jews who vote for Democrats show “either a total lack of knowledge or great disloyalty.”
Trump told reporters in the Oval Office, “Where has the Democratic Party gone? Where have they gone where they are defending these two people over the state of Israel? I think any Jewish people that vote for a Democrat, I think it shows either a total lack of knowledge or great disloyalty.”
It was clear by his comments on Wednesday morning that the president has no plans to back down from his previous comments, despite the criticism he continues to take.
