Under Armour will be breaking out some special edition “Heritage” uniforms as the company celebrates college football’s 150th anniversary this season. The uniforms will be accompanied by sideline apparael and fan gear and will pay homage to the past of 13 different programs.
The exclusive uniforms will feature a retro look while using Under Armour’s innovative material technology.
The 13 programs that will be wearing the Heritage uniforms at some point during the 2019 college football season are: the Boston College Eagles, Cincinnati Bearcats, Colorado State Rams, Maryland Terrapins, Navy Midshipmen, Northwestern Wildcats, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, South Carolina Gamecocks, Temple Owls, Texas Tech Red Raiders, University of California-Berkeley Golden Bears, Utah Utes, and Wisconsin Badgers.
“The last 150 years of college football have transcended sport, becoming a cultural phenomenon that is unmatched in passion – making every Saturday in the fall an unofficial holiday for fans across the United States. While tailgates and student sections are more recent revelations, the sense of pride and tradition around football programs at schools across the country have united communities for generations,” Under Armour wrote in a statement. “To commemorate the NCAA’s season-long celebration of college football’s 150th birthday, Under Armour is highlighting the heritage of 12 partner schools with historically inspired uniforms, sideline apparel and fan gear.”
