Good news, Coca-Cola fans, a new flavor of your favorite soda is coming in time for the holiday season. According to the Instagram account Candy Hunting, Coca-Cola will be unveiling its new “Cinnamon” flavor in the coming weeks. Coca-Cola confirmed to FOX News that the Cinnamon Coca-Cola is expected to hit shelves on September 30.
“Confirmed! Cinnamon Coca-Cola will be out this winter in the US! This flavor debuted as a Zero Coke variant in the UK last winter,” Candy Hunting revealed.
When previously tested in the U.K., consumers were very happy with the product.
And in case you are concerned that the cinnamon flavor may not mesh with the traditional Coca-Cola flavor you are used to, it may actually end up enhancing the flavor and add some extra spice to the drink.
“And a fun fact: Cola is a mix between citrus and brown spice flavors,” Candy Hunting added. “Coca-Cola leans more toward the spice side and Pepsi leans more toward citrus. Adding extra cinnamon flavor will kick up that brown spice an extra notch.”
If you recall, Pepsi attempted to dabble in the cinnamon market years ago with their Pepsi Fire cinnamon flavor.
Because Coca-Cola leans more towards the brown spice than the citrus of Pepsi as previously noted, this should be a more successful run.
In addition to the Cinnamon Coca-Cola, a new Sprite flavor will also be released. The new Sprite limited-edition flavor will be named “Winter Spiced Cranberry,” and we are totally here for it. We will just have to see what everyone thinks and whether the new flavors will be a permanent addition to the Coca-Cola lineup.
It looks like the beverage aisle is going to be a lot more fun this holiday season. And hey, anything is better than Pumpkin Spice.
