Lonzo Ball is looking for a fresh start with his new team, the New Orleans Pelicans, during the 2019-20 NBA season. He will also be taking the court with a new look after adding to his ink collection with an epic sleeve tattoo featuring the faces of multiple African-American icons.
Zo took to social media to show off the impressive new tattoo which features six portraits.
At the top of the sleeve, the phrase “The Marathon Continues” has also been inked which is a tribute to late-rapper Nipsey Hussle.
The sleeve is on Lonzo’s left arm and features former President Barack Obama, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Jr., Jackie Robinson, Harriet Tubman, and Rosa Parks. The sleeve was completed by tattoo artist Steve Butcher, who shared the video on Instagram.
Check out the impressive art:
We’ll have to see what Big Baller patriarch LaVar Ball has to say about the ink, which now gives Lonzo a tattoo sleeve on both arms. If you’ve been paying any attention to the family’s reality TV show on Facebook, Ball in the Family, you know that doesn’t sit well with Big Baller Brand patriarch LaVar. LaVar nearly lost his mind when he discovered his middle son LiAngelo had his entire torso covered in tats saying, “the fool done gone drawn all over his body.”
And then there is younger brother LaMelo, who also joined the tatted Ball clan by getting a gigantic chest piece featuring wings and his signature No. 1.
As for Lonzo on the court, he will make his regular-season debut in his new uniform when the New Orleans Pelicans take on the reigning NBA champion Toronto Raptors on Tuesday, October 22. Lonzo will get his first crack at his former team on Wednesday, November 27 when the Pelicans welcome the Los Angeles Lakers to New Orleans.
