Marianne Williamson is an author, lecturer, and activist who is one of the contenders running for the 2020 Democratic nomination. Reports vary on Marianne Williamson’s net worth, according to FOX Business. Williamson released her financial disclosure reports in January 2019 which listed business, speaking fees, and stocks such as Apple, Google and Whole Foods as her primary income.
Williamson is an unorthodox presidential candidate, but hopes that being a breath of fresh air will help her appeal to the voters.
“We need a new burst of freedom, we need a whole uprising of consciousness among the American people,” she said when she announced her bid for office. “New paradigm leadership is not about saying, ‘I’ll do it, send me to Washington.’ New paradigm leadership is where the leader is holding the space for the brilliance of others, and that is what I have done throughout my entire career.”
Williamson previously ran to represent California’s 33rd congressional district in the United States House of Representatives as an independent.

Williamson was born in Houston, Texas in 1952 to Sam Williamson and Sophie Kaplan. Her father, whose original surname was Vishnevetsky, was an immigration lawyer while her mother was a homemaker. Marianne grew up in a Jewish family.
