Incoming White House press secretary Stephanie Grishman was in the middle of an “all-out brawl” with a group of North Korean henchmen while she was attempting to get the US press pool into position for Donald Trump’s meeting with Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.

The North Koreans attempted to stop Grisham when a scuffle ensued. According to reports from CNN and other news outlets, the 42-year-old Grisham was left with bruises.

The incident was described as an “all-out brawl.”

From the report:

A source at the scene said Grisham got in “an all out brawl” with North Korean officials as American and North Korean reporters were hustled in to view the summit. Grisham was bruised a bit in the scuffle, the source added. Grisham could be seen after the episode directing reporters outside the building in which Kim and Trump met, and she was later seen looking no worse for wear as she accompanied the President at the DMZ.

Grisham, meanwhile, did not seem too bothered by the incident, taking to Twitter after the meeting to write: “Unbelievable to watch our @potus @realDonaldTrump work so hard on behalf of this country over the past few days (and always!) History was made today – honored to witness it.”

Video of the physical altercation quickly surfaced on social media.

Grisham was recently announced as the replacement for Sarah Sanders, who has decided to step down from her job. Along with being the new White House press secretary, Grisham will retain her current job of communications director for First Lady Melanie Trump which she has held for the past two years.

The First Lady announced Grisham’s new role on Tuesday, June 25.

“I am pleased to announce @StephGrisham45 will be the next @PressSec & Comms Director! She has been with us since 2015 – @POTUS & I can think of no better person to serve the Administration & our country. Excited to have Stephanie working for both sides of the @WhiteHouse. #BeBest,” she wrote on Twitter.

As for the scuffle with North Korean officials, we will have to see whether the president comments at a later time.
