Anthony Davis may end up with the Los Angeles Lakers after all. In the ongoing saga between the Lakers and the New Orleans Pelicans attempt to trade for the All-Star big man, we have received an update that claims Los Angeles is the most likely destination.
The Boston Celtics appear to also be in on the deal, but considering the Lakers’ young assets, they have the inside track to make one of the biggest acquisitions of the offseason.
According to reports, the Lakers are willing to package the No. 4 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, Lonzo Ball, and Brandon Ingram in exchange for Davis. However, the Pelicans appear to be eyeing Kyle Kuzma as well.
ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski made an appearance on Thursday morning to provide the latest update and said that he believes the Lakers have enough to get the deal done.
“It’s going to be a question of how much are they willing to give up? Will they add a Kyle Kuzma to a bigger package? Will they include future first-round picks?” Woj said on ESPN’s Get Up!. “They’re serious now.”

Ahead of last year’s NBA trade deadline, the Lakers also made a push to land Davis. Unfortunately for Los Angeles, they were unable to get a deal done and as injuries continued to pile up on the court they saw their hopes at the postseason fade away despite having LeBron James on the roster.
Now, we will have to see whether they have the killer instinct to get the job done during the offseason. And if they do, we could finally see the Lakers make their long-awaited return to the postseason.
Last season, the Lakers finished with an overall record of 37-25 which was placed the team 10th in the Western Conference.
