Victoria Arlen, born in Exeter, New Hampshire on September 26, 1994, is an American actress, public speaker, model, and former Paralympian athlete who is best known for her work as an on-camera personality at ESPN.

Arlen’s journey to ESPN is as inspiring of a story has you’ll hear. When she was just 11-years-old, Arlen was diagnosed with two serious diseases — transverse myelitis and acute disseminated encephalomyelitis — that caused her to lose the ability to speak, eat, and move.

Arlen’s condition eventually worsened as she slipped into a vegetative state. However, despite the fact that doctors doubted her chances of survival, Arlen would begin to recover in the year 2010 against all odds.

Two years after she began her recovery, Arlen competed at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London, winning one gold and three silver medals as a swimmer.

Following her Paralympian success, Arlen joined ESPN as an on-air personality when she was just 21-years-old, making her one of the youngest on-camera talents to ever be hired by the company.

In addition to beginning her sportscasting career with ESPN, Arlen appeared in the 25th season of ABC’s reality competition series Dancing with the Stars in the year 2017. Arlen and her dance partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy ultimately reached the semi-final.

From being “locked” inside of her body for years to becoming a Gold Medalist and working for ESPN, Arlen’s journey to the top is one of the most inspiring in the industry.

Definitely one of the coolest experiences of 2018. Stripping down and sharing my true authentic self literally and figuratively was such an amazing experience. Daunting/terrifying yes but incredibly powerful. I always had been fearful after everything I’d been through and the many drastic changes my body went through of showing my scars. I remember vividly the moment post vegetative state where I looked in the mirror and cried. I didn’t recognize myself or the body that had failed me over and over again. It took every ounce of my being to accept that these scars and changes were ok and a part of the battle I had WON. It also made me realize that we all tend to focus on the costumes we wear and the masks we put on to hide our scars and at times our true authentic self. Take a moment to strip yourself down and remember that you are beautiful, amazing and spectacular in every possible way. #ShowEm #JockeyBrandAmbassador My journey with @jockey is only just beginning 💙🙏🏼 Stay Tuned!
