After eight record-breaking and Emmy Award-winning seasons, HBO’s instantly classic fantasy drama series Game of Thrones has finally come to a close with tonight’s bloody series finale.
WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS FOR ‘GAME OF THRONES’ SEASON 8, EPISODE 6 WILL FOLLOW.
Following last week’s bloody and devastating penultimate episode, “The Bells”, tonight’s series finale was bound to see the consequences of Daenerys’ Mad Queen turn come to a head.
While tonight’s series finale did not have the same body count as “The Bells”, the final episode of Game of Thrones did not disappoint in the death department, as one of the show’s major characters, Daenerys Targaryen, was killed.
As Daenerys finally approaches the Iron Throne, Jon Snow appears behind her, coaxing her into getting close. As the two finally emotionally embrace, Jon promises that Daenerys will always be his queen before he stabs her in the heart, killing her.
