As the Marvel Cinematic Universe inherently and exponentially grows, so does its cast of characters, and therefore the list of actors and actresses that portray them.
While Avengers: Endgame was certainly a seminal moment in the MCU, it was far from the actual *end*, as Marvel Studios has enough money, skill, and comic book lore to build movies around to keep the Marvel Cinematic Universe going until, well, forever.
And one of the most important parts of Marvel Studios’ success is their undeniable eye for perfect casting.
Whether it be the Godfather of the MCU, Robert Downey Jr., completely embodying the character of Tony Stark, Benedict Cumberbatch looking so much like Dr. Strange that it’s unclear which one of them came first, or Chris Pratt becoming a global superstar thanks to his casting as Star-Lord, Marvel Studios has an uncanny ability to cast the perfect actors in the perfect roles.
So it goes without saying that if this latest rumor is true, they’ve hit yet another home run.
According to a rumor from English tabloid Mirror, a recent Marvel-related leak has revealed that Zac Efron has been cast to star as Adam Warlock in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3.
The introduction of Adam Warlock was previously teased in the post-credit scene of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2.
Warlock, who made his first Marvel Comics appearance in a 1967 issue of Fantastic Four.
Created to be the “perfect being”, it’s understandable why Efron has been cast in the role.
While the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. (or Asgardians of the Galaxy???) release date has yet to be confirmed, Marvel Studios expects the film — which sees James Gunn return as director despite being dismissed from the project — to be released sometime during the year 2020.
Now, all we need is for them to confirm that Thor is going to be in GOTG3 and it may truly have the potential to be the most unique film in the MCU.
