The Ultimate Fighting Championship kicks off the month of May north of the border with UFC on ESPN+ 9 at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The event is headlined by a bout between lightweight contenders Al Iaquinta and Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone.
In the co-main event, Derek Brunson meets local favorite Elias Theodorou in a middleweight bout.
The event marks the second time that the UFC has made the trip to Ottawa, with the first visit coming in June 2016 with Rory MacDonald vs. Stephen Thompson headlining the show.
UFC on ESPN+ 9 kicks off at 5:00 p.m. ET with a bantamweight matchup between Mitch Gagnon and Cole Smith. The featured preliminary bout is a battle between promising women’s bantamweight contenders Macy Chiasson and Sarah Moras. The main card officially begins at 8:00 p.m. ET with The Ultimate Fighter alum Andrew Sanchez taking on Marc-Andre Barriault.
