Four Injured In Shooting at Chabad of Poway Synagogue

San Diego police have arrested a suspect in connection to a shooting incident at the Chabad of Poway synagogue that resulted in four injured victims. The shooting reportedly began around 11:30 a.m. local time as worshippers were in the synagogue to celebrate the last day of Passover.

Following the shooting, the victims were taken to the Palomar Medical Center. At this time, the extent of the victims’ injuries is unknown. Some reports indicate that one person has died, although no fatalities have been confirmed.

Police have asked citizens to avoid the area while police investigate, which will take several hours.

The injured have been identified as Rabbi Goldstein, an unidentified male, an unidentified woman, and an unidentified child. Yisorel Goldstein founded the Chabad of Poway Synagogue center in 1986.

According to witnesses, the gunman was reportedly armed with a tactical vest and tactical helmet.

At this time, a description of the gunman has not been disclosed.

It is unclear if there are any fatalities at this time.
