Actor Jason Momoa, who starred as Aquaman in the DC Extended Universe and Khal Drago in the HBO hit show Game of Thrones, has shaved off his iconic beard. The actor made the decision to raise awareness for aluminum recycling. Because of the fact that “75 percent of aluminum that’s ever been used is still in circulation today,” Momoa hopes they can eventually replace plastic bottles.
It only takes 60 days for an aluminum can to be recycled and put back on the market.
“I just want to bring awareness that plastics are killing our planet, and I think I have a solution,” Momoa said as he began shaving off his beard. “I don’t wanna b—- about it, but there’s only one thing that can really help our planet and save our planet, as long as we recycle, and that’s aluminum.
“There’s a change coming, and it’s aluminum. You gotta get rid of your plastic water bottles. Aquaman’s trying to do the best he can for my kids, for your kids, for the world. Love you guys.”

But if you don’t want to wait to see Momoa’s new look, get ready to be blown away.
Of course, Twitter users decided to quickly share their thoughts on the star actor’s new look.
“At first I was devastated when I saw the headline, but then I saw the photo and ‘911: Hello 911, what’s your emergency?’ Me: *hyperventilating* ‘911: … you saw the photo of Jason Momoa without a beard didn’t you?’,” joked one user.
“I know the redacted Mueller Report is out today, but please don’t let that overshadow the news that Jason Momoa shaved his beard,” wrote former Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges.
Some seem to appreciate the new look, while others view it as a tragedy.
“During #HolyWeek #NotreDame burned and now Jason Momoa has shaved off his beard for the first time since 2012. That’s it the world is coming to an end and we are all going to hell,” another Twitter user wrote.
