There are currently reports of a “man with a gun” at the Kaiser Permanente South Bay Medical Center in Harbor City, Los Angeles County, California.
The area and facility are currently on lockdown while officers investigate the reports. The Los Angeles Police Department is currently on the scene.
The LAPD Harbor Division confirmed the reports of a “man with a gun” in a tweet. Civilians at the facility have been asked to shelter-in-place and those outside the facility have been asked to avoid the area.
“We responded to reports of a Man with a Gun at Kaiser Permanente South Bay. We are currently on scene searching the area. @KPSouthBay is currently on lock-down as a precaution and they are asking for people on campus to shelter in place. Please avoid the area,” the LAPD’s tweet read.
According to Patch, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department said that “a search team is in the center searching for the suspect.”
While the LAPD was slow to confirm the reports of a “man with a gun”, there were a handful of tweets and videos confirming the reports of the active shooter alert.
