Florida rapper Kodak Black is catching some serious backlash on social media after comments made about Lauren London, the longtime partner of late-rapper Nipsey Hussle and mother of one of his children, surfaced online.
“Lauren London that’s baby, though. She ’bout to be out here single,” Kodak can be heard saying on Instagram Live. “She fittin’ to be a whole widow out here. I’ll be the best man I can be for her. I’ll give her a whole year. She might need a whole year to be crying and shit for [Nipsey].
“I ain’t trying to shoot at her. I’m saying, listen. She can do two, three years. I’ll try to be like the friend if you need to holla or a shoulder to lean on. She can call my line.”
After the comments surfaced, Kodak was put on blast with a number of rap stars calling him out for the lewd comments.
“You outta pocket, n*gga. Fix that sh*t quickly, expeditiously… If I see you, I’ma say it in your face,” Atlanta-based rapper T.I. said in a video of his own.
Kodak responded.
The Game, a close friend of Nipsey’s, also directed comments at Kodak for being disrespectful while warning him to keep Nipsey’s name out of his mouth.
Let’s hope this doesn’t escalate into anything much more serious and the beef can be squashed before going beyond words. I think everyone agrees that Kodak needs to issue an apology, but with how he has proven to be in the past, we shouldn’t really expect that.
