Want to get married like a regular person? Well, that’ll just have to wait, according to the NCAA, as reports indicate that UVA shooting guard Kyle Guy and his fiancee Alexa Jenkins weren’t allowed to start their wedding registry because it apparently violates NCAA rules.
Guy, born on August 11, 1997, in Indianapolis, Indiana, attended Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis, where he established himself as one of the best high school basketball players before committing to play for Tony Bennett at the University of Virginia.
Guy’s NCAA basketball career with the Virginia Cavaliers began in 2016. He went on to average 7.5 points per game in 34 appearances. The following season, Guy was installed as a starter for the 2017-18 season, averaging 14.1 points per game while starting all 34 games of the season.
Guy proposed to Jenkins on February 18, 2018, according to her Instagram.
Guy and Jenkins made national news during Guy’s run into the 2019 Final Four, as BustedCoverage reported that they were not allowed to launch their wedding registry as it violates NCAA rules.
Guy further elaborated on the wedding registry situation when asked by reporters prior to the Virginia Cavaliers game against the Auburn Tigers in the National Semifinal.
So while Guy may have to wait to get those wedding gifts, it’s a good thing he didn’t wait to lock down Alexa, as the Notre Dame law student seems to be the definition of a keeper.
