Michael Cammarata, 42-years-old, has been identified as the estranged husband of Jeanine Cammarata, a Staten Island mother-of-three and elementary school teacher who has been missing since Saturday, March 30.

Jeanine Cammarata, who was reported missing on Monday, April 1, reportedly served divorce papers to Michael Cammarata on Thursday, March 28.

While nothing official has been announced, police believe the body that they found at a storage facility in East Rockaway, New York, on Thursday, April 4, is the body of 37-year-old Jeanine Cammarata. At the time of this writing, officers with the NYPD were working to make a positive identification of the body.

According to the New York Daily News, surveillance footage gathered by the New York City Police Department shows Michael “with a large bag leaving his Rockaways apartment shortly after Jeanine then later showing up at the storage facility on Arden Ave.”

Additionally, a source told the New York Daily News that “the surveillance video at the storage facility shows him and another person unloading the large bag.”

However, while Michael Cammarata was charged with assault, harassment and stalking this week in connection to a previous domestic dispute between the two, he has not been charged in connection to the disappearance of Jeanine at this time.

Speaking to ABC 7 New York, Jose Perez — Cammarata’s landlord — said that Michael would allegedly harass and physically abuse Cammarata.

“She even escalated it because she was concerned about her safety,” Perez said to ABC 7. “And I mentioned it to her, I said to her, ‘You better get this thing straightened out, because you don’t want any problems.’…She always texted me where she’s at or if something’s happening to her. But she has not.”

The New York Police Department has asked anyone who may have information about Cammarata or her whereabouts to call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.

That is all the information that is available at this time. This article will be updated with new and relevant information should it become available at any time. If there is anything that we missed, please feel free to send an email to editor@teamcoed.com and we will respond as soon as possible.
