If you’re a fan of reality television, chances are you know Savannah Chrisley. Chrisley and her family — Todd Chrisley, Julie Chrisley, and Chase — star on the shows Chrisley Knows Best and Growing Up Chrisley, which airs on the USA Network.
Recently, the 21-year-old announced she was engaged to professional hockey player Nic Kerdiles.
Chrisley says that Kerdiles popped the question in front of their friends and family while they were in Nashville, Tennessee on Christmas Eve. The camera crew was also on hand to film the proposal because they were filming for the show.
“[On the night of the engagement], Nic’s family was in town and my whole family was there and we were filming and I was furious,” Chrisley told PEOPLE Magazine. “I was like, ‘The fact we’re filming on Christmas Eve is absolutely insane. I have people here.’”
And, yes, Kerdiles, who plays for the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League, got the approval of Chrisley’s family before popping the question.
“He FaceTimed my dad. My dad said he was so nervous when he FaceTimed him, that he asked my dad for his hand in marriage! And my dad was like, ‘You may want to re-ask that question.’ He was like, ‘Do you want my daughter’s hand in marriage or my hand in marriage?’ Nic hung up the phone and called back, and then asked him the right way. And it was just so funny. My dad said he was so nervous,” Chrisley said.
