Fyre Festival was an epic disaster. The failed music festival which left hundreds of overly rich kids stranded on an island in less than stellar condition led to a six-year prison sentence for founder Billy McFarland. But it was the cast of social media influencers, including Kendall Jenner, (and Ja Rule) who really helped promote the fantasy concept.
It is well-documented by now that Fyre Festival did not deliver what was promised — with documentaries on Netflix and Hulu showing just how big of a mess it really was — but Jenner had never really commented on her involvement.
Jenner reportedly received $250,000 for promoting the event in a now-deleted Instagram post.
Now, she is finally speaking out.
And as far as Jenner is concerned, she was scammed into believing Fyre Festival was the real deal like those who blew their parents’ money for a trip to the Bahamas.
From an interview with The New York Times:
“You get reached out to by people to, whether it be to promote or help or whatever, and you never know how these things are going to turn out, sometimes it’s a risk.
“I definitely do as much research as I can, but sometimes there isn’t much research you can do because it’s a starting brand and you kind of have to have faith in it and hope it will work out the way people say it will… you never really know what’s going to happen.”
Poor Kendall. How could she have ever thought a known scammer wasn’t going to deliver?
Anyhow, since Kendall is the only tolerable member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan, you can check out some photos of the model and social media influencer below.
