Laci Kaye Booth auditioned for season 17 of American Idol in 2019. The 23-year-old country singer from Livingston, Texas earned her spot in the Top 20 after wowing the judges throughout the auditioning process.
Laci follows in the footsteps of her father, Jody Booth, who is a Texas-based country artist who co-wrote one of the songs on Laci’s debut EP, “Something New,” which released in September 2017.
She lists her musical influences as Stevie Nicks, Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton, Merle Haggard, Elvis Presley, and Patsy Cline.
According to her official website, Laci’s music delivers “an authentic, country-soul sound. She performs multiple genre’s including old and new country, pop, and even 70’s and 80’s hits.”
