Nipsey Hussle, born Ermias Davidson Asghedom on August 15, 1985, was shot and killed outside of his Los Angeles store at the age of 33-years-old on Sunday, March 31.
According to police, following the shooting, Hussle was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
However, it’s what happened just an hour before his shocking death that has fans spooked.
Just hours prior to his tragic death, Hussle tweeted “having strong enemies is a blessing” at 2:52 p.m. PST.
Hussle was coming off some of the best times of his career, as his debut studio album “Victory Lap” was nominated for Best Rap Album at the 61st Grammy Awards in February. “Victory Lap” ultimately lost out to Cardi B’s debut studio album “Invasion of Privacy”.
Prior to the Grammy-nominated album “Victory Lap”, Hussle was known for his mixtapes such as his Bullets Ain’t Got No Name series, The Marathon, The Marathon Continues and Crenshaw.
Grammy-winning rapper Jay-Z once famously bought 100 copies of Hussle’s Crenshaw mixtape for $100 a piece.
Following his tragic death, tributes to Hussle began pouring in from all over the entertainment industry from rappers and athletes alike.
“This doesn’t make any sense! My spirit is shaken by this! Dear God may His spirit Rest In Peace and May You grant divine comfort to all his loved ones! I’m so sorry this happened to you,” Rihanna tweeted along with photos of the late Los Angeles rapper.
The thoughts and prayers of the COED staff are with Hussle’s friends, family, and loved ones during this difficult time.
