One person has been killed and two people have been wounded in shooting at rapper Nipsey Hussle’s store in Los Angeles. While police have confirmed that one person has died, they have not disclosed the victim’s identity at this time.
The shooting took place in the 3400 block of Slauson Avenue in Hyde Park around 3:20 p.m. PST. At this time, Hussle’s condition is unknown, although it has been confirmed that he’s been shot.
At this time of this writing, the shooter who shot and killed Hussle has not been identified and no suspects have been detained by police.
Hussle, born Ermias Davidson Asghedom on August 15, 1985, in Los Angeles, owns a store called Marathon Clothing at 3420 W. Slauson Ave. Just this year, Hussle was nominated for Best Rap Album at the 61st Grammy Awards for his debut studio album “Victory Lap.”
Earlier in the day, at 2:52 p.m. PST, Hussle tweeted “having strong enemies is a blessing.”
Prior to his Grammy-nominated debut studio album, Hussle was known for his mixtape catalog that included three installments of his Bullets Ain’t Got No Name series, The Marathon, The Marathon Continues and Crenshaw.
Hussle’s first and last studio album, the Grammy-nominated “Victory Lap”, had features from rapping and R&B giants such as YG, Kendrick Lamar, The-Dream, and Cee-Lo Green.
