LaVar Ball says don’t count out Big Baller Brand yet. Despite rampant speculation that the Triple-B brand could be folding following a fallout with co-founder Alan Foster, who is accused of stealing $1.5 million from Lonzo Ball, LaVar says that the brand is alive and well.
The outspoken father of Lonzo, LiAngelo, and LaMelo recently appeared on radio to discuss the brand and promote his upcoming Big Baller Brand All-American Game.
LaVar’s comments come after a photo surfaced online showing his oldest son, Lonzo, covering up his BBB tattoo amid rumors that he’s considering a shoe deal with Nike.
Lonzo’s manager, Darren Moore, aka D-Mo, had also recently posted a video showing a pair of ZO2 sneakers being tossed in the trash.
But despite all of that, LaVar told 98.5 KLUC in Vegas that the brand is strong.
“I’m not gonna let one roodypoo guy come in here and do something bad and then be like the brand’s not good,” Ball said, via TMZ Sports.
“The brand is good. It’s just somebody did something bad to it … We had a snake up in the thing, but you gotta understand this — I’m a snake charmer. When you’re a snake charmer, you’re gonna get bit.”
While LaVar is still optimistic about Big Baller Brand, we will have to see whether his sons stick by his side or if they choose to seek other brands for endorsement deals.
The Big Baller Brand All-American Game, headlined by LaMelo and his SPIRE Institute teammate Rocket Watts, a Michigan State commit, takes place at The Orleans in Las Vegas, Nevada. Tip-off is set for 3:00 p.m. local time.
