Sunmi, whose birth name is Lee Sun-mi, was born on May 2, 1992, in Iksan, South Korea. She got her start in the music industry in 2007 as part of the girl group Wonder Girls, before taking a three-year break to study at Dongguk University where she majored in musical theater.
After returning to the industry, Sunmi kicked off her solo career and became an instant K-Pop sensation.
Sunmi’s first extended play album Full Moon was released in 2013. The standout single from the EP, “24 Hours,” hit the No. 2 spot on South Korea’s Gaon Digital Chart. In 2018, Sunmi released her follow up project Warning which produced hits like “Siren”, Gashina”, and “Heroine.”
