Jennifer Ravalo, a reporter for Vegas Sports Daily known as Jenny SuShe, is set to take legal action against Bulgarian heavyweight boxer Kubrat Pulev after he forcibly kissed her on the lips during an interview.
Following the spread of the now-viral video, Pulev has been suspended by the California State Athletic Commission and Ravalo has hired attorney Gloria Allred, according to TMZ.
The video — which was filmed on Friday March 22, at The Hangar OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, California — shows Ravalo interviewing Kubrat Pulev following his heavyweight victory over Bogdan Dinu when the Bulgarian boxer — who is a challenger to Anthony Joshua’s IBF world heavyweight title — planted an unwarranted kiss on her.
Following the immediate backlash, Pulev tweeted an official statement on Monday, March 25, in an attempt to defend his actions:
To my fans,
You may have seen a clip of me kissing a female reporter following an interview after I won my fight Saturday night. The reporter, Jenny, is actually a friend of mine, and after the interview, I was so elated, I gave her a kiss.
Later that night, she joined me and my other friends at my post-fight celebration. On the video, after our kiss, we both laughed about it and thanked each other. There is really nothing more to this.
However, Ravalo says that was the first time she had ever met Pulev. She had previously posted a picture with Pulev on her Instagram account, however, that picture has since been deleted.
Furthermore, Ravalo said that “was immediately shocked and embarrassed, and didn’t know how to respond.”
