Journalist Jenny Sushe, who was covering a fight between Kubrat Pulev and Bogdan Dinu on Saturday, March 23, went viral after a video interview with Pulev following his stoppage victory went viral. At the end of the interview, Pulev grabbed Sushe and forcibly kissed the reporter before making his way off camera as Jenny uncomfortably laughed it off.
After receiving the backlash, Pulev attempted to defend himself.
“You may have seen a clip of me kissing a female reporter after I won my fight on Saturday night,” Pulev wrote on Twitter. “The reporter, Jenny, is actually a friend of mine and after the interview, I gave her a kiss. Later that night, she joined me and my other friends at my post-fight celebration. On that video, after our kiss, we both laughed about it and thanked each other. There really is nothing more to this.”
It was a cringe-worthy moment that drew plenty of criticism from viewers.
And now, Sushe is ready to take some action.
According to a report from TMZ Sports, Sushe has hired legendary civil rights attorney Gloria Allred.
Sushe and Allred addressed the media and added details. Along with the forced kiss, the Bulgarian heavyweight allegedly also groped Sushe’s butt following the interview. Sushe says that Pulev asked for the kiss to be edited out of the interview, but she would not oblige.
A letter has also been sent to the California State Athletic Commission asking for Pulev to be suspended.
“We hereby request that the commission conduct an immediate investigation into the serious allegations,” the letter to the commission read, via TMZ. “We request that Mr. Pulov’s boxing license be suspended.”
We will have to wait and see how the commission responds.
