Ramon Hector Martine Ontiveros, a 33-year-old illegal immigrant from Mexico, has been charged with first-degree murder after he allegedly admitted to shooting and killing 28-year-old mother Paige Gomer.
According to reports, Ontiveros — who was arrested by Hinton police department officers around 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 21 after initially fleeing the scene of the crime — admitted to police that he was the one responsible for Gomer’s death.
Gomer was shot and killed on Highway 37 and Karns Road in Hinton, Oklahoma on Thursday, March 21. Ramon Hector Martine Ontiveros has since been charged with first-degree murder.
Following his arrest, Ramon Hector Martine Ontiveros was taken to the Canadian County jail where he currently remains without bond. Additionally, an ICE detainer is in place.
In a statement, Canadian County Sheriff Chris West confirmed that Ontiveros is a Mexican citizen and said that authorities “are still actively involved in this investigation where an American citizen died in the hands of an illegal alien in Canadian County.”
Furthermore, the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner is also still actively investigating Gomer’s exact cause of death.
President Trump has yet to tweet about Ramon Hector Martine Ontiveros or Paige Gomer at the time of this writing.
Speaking to KFOR, friends described Gomer, who leaves behind a young daughter, as kind and helpful.
“She would always help me through the worst times,” said Sosha Christmas, who was a friend of Gomer.
As for Ontiveros, Christmas said she hopes he “never gets out.”
“I just hope he never gets out. I hope he never gets to see freedom again. I don’t know who he is, but I hope he gets what he deserves,” Christmas told KFOR.
