Despite the fact that Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy came out 15 years ago (15 years?! My word, time is comically fleeting), Ron Burgundy somehow, someway remains a fixture of the pop cultural zeitgeist.

In fact, Will Ferrell’s Ron Burgundy character is still so popular that his current podcast on iHeartRadio is currently one of the top 25 in the country.

However, while there may be some well-polished Burgundy products out there like the podcast still keeping the brand alive, I believe it is the random appearances and pop-ups he makes throughout the years that makes the character remain.

Whether it be anchoring an hour of SportsCenter or hosting the local cable news channel in Bismarck, North Dakota, Burgundy has a hilarious way of popping up where you least expect him to, including professional hockey games.

During the Los Angeles Kings 4-2 win over the San Jose Sharks on Thursday, March 21, Burgundy popped up in the LA Kings booth to do what he does best: make people laugh at his seemingly nonsensical musings.

With the podcast launching just a couple of months ago, this latest public appearance may have fans wondering whether or not Ferrell is building up hype for the potential announcement of a third movie.

While nothing official has been announced, given the current nature of Hollywood’s creative cycle, it’s well within the realm of possibility to imagine the Anchorman franchise turning into a threequel.

Would you want to see a third Anchorman movie? Let us know in the comment section?
