Olivia Jade Giannulli, the daughter of actress Lori Loughlin and designer Mossimo Giannulli, is a social media influencer with millions of followers across various platforms. Now, she is also known for her involvement in a new college admission scandal that saw dozens of people arrested for bribing colleges like USC and UCLA to get their children accepted.
The project, known as “Project Varsity Blues,” was revealed on Tuesday, March 12.
Other schools involved include Georgetown University, Stanford University, the University of San Diego, University of Texas, Wake Forest, and Yale.
According to the indictment, Olivia’s parents paid $500,000 to have her and her sister Isabella accepted to the University of Southern California as members of the crew team.
USC issued a statement which read: “We are aware of the ongoing wide-ranging criminal investigation involving universities nationwide, including USC. USC has not been accused of any wrongdoing and will continue to cooperate fully with the government’s investigation.”
Laughlin is one of the most prominent figures named in the case which has led to nearly 50 arrests at this time. Previously, Olivia Jade used her social media platform to boast about being a college student with a paid advertisement.
“Officially a college student! It’s been a few weeks since I moved into my dorm and I absolutely love it. I got everything I needed from Amazon with @primestudent and had it all shipped to me in just two days,” she wrote on Instagram.
Now, a quick look at her YouTube page will show you plenty of trolling.
