Disney has dropped its first full-length trailer for the live-action picture Aladdin. The trailer has been met with positive reaction as fans anticipate the new generation of the classic film.
The world premiere of the new trailer officially dropped on Good Morning America on Tuesday, March 12.
The new compositions of the music in the film were composed by written by eight-time Academy Award-winning composer Alan Menken. In addition, two new songs written by Menken and Tony Award-winning songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.

The film adaption will also include new recordings of the original songs written by eight-time Academy Award-winning composer Alan Menken, plus two new songs written by Menken and Tony Award-winning songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul of “La La Land” and “Dear Evan Hansen.”

Aladdin, which was directed by Guy Ritchie (known for films such as Sherlock Holmes and Snatch) will star Mena Massoud as the titular Aladdin alongside Will Smith as the Genie originally made iconic by the late, great Robin Williams. In addition to Massoud and Smith, Aladdin will star Naomi Scott, Marwan Kenzari, Navid Negahban, Nasim Pedrad, Billy Magnussen, and Numan Acar.
Disney’s Aladdin is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on May 24, 2019.
