‘90210’ star actor Luke Perry has died of a reported stroke. Perry passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Burbank, California, on the morning of Monday, March 4, “surrounded” by close friends and family.
Perry was best known for portraying Dylan McKay on Beverly Hills, 90210 and Fred Andrews on Riverdale.
He was previously hospitalized for the stroke on Wednesday, February 27 — the same day that FOX announced a six-episode revival of Beverly Hills, 90210. However, Perry had not signed on to be a series regular as the shooting scheduled conflicted with his Riverdale commitments.
According to doctors, while they had made the decision to sedate Perry in an effort to give his brain a chance to recover from the stroke, the damage was reported to be “too extensive”, TMZ reports.
Running throughout the course of the 1990s, Beverly Hills, 90210 was one of the most popular shows of the decade. Perry portrayed Dylan Michael McKay, a main character who was “a loner in high school until he found ‘the gang'”.
Perry was reportedly set to appear in Quentin Tarantino’s latest original film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which is set to be released in August.
