Jamie-Lynn Sigler, born May 15, 1981, in Jericho, New York, is an American actress who is best known for her iconic role of Meadow Soprano in the legendary HBO crime drama comedy series The Sopranos.
Born in Jericho, Sigler was just a 16-year-old teenager at Jericho High School when she was cast as Meadow Soprano in 1997.
While Sigler was cast in The Sopranos in 1997, the show did not actually begin airing until 1999. The Sopranos was an immediate success, instantly launching Sigler’s television and film career.
Following her breakthrough into the acting industry, Sigler was cast in various TV and movie projects such as A Brooklyn State of Mind, Campfire Stories, Death of a Dynasty, Love Wrecked, Dark Ride, Will & Grace, How I Met Your Mother, Ugly Better, I Do, Jewtopia, and Divorce Invitation.
Ironically, her second most-iconic role other than playing Meadow Soprano may actually be when she played herself in the HBO bro-comedy Entourage.
However, while Sigler’s acting beginnings were as successful as any young actress could hope for, her career never materialized into anything more than being Meadow from The Sopranos.
Luckily for Sigler, despite her acting career plateauing, she probably got paid a pretty penny HBO during those last couple of seasons of The Sopranos, is happily married, and has two young children.
Plus, we have a feeling that Tony Soprano (RIP) would be happy to know that Meadow turned out alright after all.
