UPDATE: UFC 234 has undergone a last-minute change of main event. Hours before the pay-per-view was set to begin, the UFC announced that middleweight champion Robert Whittaker has been pulled from the bout due to injury. Whittaker has suffered a hernia in his abdomen that will require immediate surgery.

As a result, the scheduled co-main event between Israel Adesanya and Anderson Silva has been promoted to the main event.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to pay-per-view with UFC 234 on Saturday, February 9 for the first pay-per-view event of 2019. The event is headlined by a middleweight championship bout between current titleholder Robert Whittaker and top contender Kelvin Gastelum. The two are both past winners of the UFC’s reality show The Ultimate Fighter.

In the co-main event of the night, former champion Anderson Silva squares off against the always exciting Israel Adesanya, who is one of the promotion’s rising stars.
