Boxing legend and viral sensation Rocky Lockridge has passed away at age 60. According to TMZ Sports, the former boxing champion who became a viral meme following a breakdown on the show “Intervention” passed away on Thursday, February 7 due to complications from a stroke.
Lockridge is a former WBA and IBF junior lightweight champion.
Lockridge compiled a record of 44-9 throughout his professional career. The orthodox fighter earned the WBA and lineal super featherweight titles with a first-round knockout of Roger Mayweather, whose nephew is boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr., in just 98 seconds. It was the first loss of Mayweather’s career.
However, it was an appearance on the A&E show “Intervention” that he is best known for after being confronted for his addiction to crack cocaine. While Rock’s son Lamar addressed the problem, Rocky broke down with what was dubbed the “best cry ever” on social media.

Rocky Lockridge Cause Of Death: Complications From Stroke
Lockridge had reportedly been in hospital care for the last few weeks after suffering a stroke. On Thursday, February 7, his son Ricky confirmed that his father had passed away. He was reportedly removed from life support one week prior to his death.
“It is with great pain but a whole heart that I tell you family and friends that my father Ricky Lockridge aka Rocky Lockridge has passed away,” Lockridge’s son Ricky confirmed in a statement. “All he wanted was to be in the comfort of his home with friends/family. God has called him to walk through the gates of heaven.”
