Victor Pena has been identified as the man who was charged with the kidnapping Olivia Ambrose, a woman who went missing in Boston on Saturday, January 19.
Ambrose was found alive on Tuesday, January 22, at Pena’s apartment.
What Happened?
According to the Boston Police Department, the 38-year-old Pena was arrested at his apartment in the Charlestown neighborhood of Boston on Tuesday, January 22, where Ambrose was also found.
Police say that the 23-year-old Ambrose was last seen by her sister and friends leaving Hennessy’s Bar on Union Street near Quincy Market in Boston around 11 p.m. EST on Saturday, January 19.
After being found, Ambrose was taken to Massachusettes General Hospital, where she was reunited with her family.
Pena has been charged with a single count of kidnapping, which carries a maximum of 10 years in prison. He was arraigned in Charlestown District Court on Wednesday, January 23.
At this time, police say they do not have a motive for the kidnapping.

Investigators said Ambrose was seen leaving the bar around 11 p.m. with a man who police determined not to be involved in her disappearance. About 40 minutes later, Ambrose is seen in surveillance footage a few blocks away, where two other men invited her to walk with them.
One of the men, the individual seen in the surveillance images and presumed to be Pena, put his arm around her and directed her to the nearby State Street MBTA station. About 20 minutes later, Ambrose appeared with that same man leaving the Bunker Hill Community MBTA station in Charlestown, a short ride from the State Street station. Police said he still had his arm around her.
Ambrose and the man were seen for the last time about 10 minutes after leaving the Bunker Hill station, at an intersection a short walk to the north. Police said phone records subsequently showed Ambrose’s phone in the vicinity of the nearby Bunker Hill Housing Development.
In addition to Pena, police say that detectives identified and cleared a second individual who was seen on surveillance video near Pena and the victim. He turned himself into detectives and is being considered a witness at this time.
