Danielle Collins is one of the rising women’s professional tennis players, who is making her name on the WTA Tour after a successful collegiate career where she starred at the University of Virginia.
During her time on the Cavaliers tennis team, Collins became a two-time national champion. Collins claimed her second national title in her senior year. She was the top-ranked player in the nation.
The 25-year-old hails from Saint Petersburg, Florida where she attended Northeast High School.
On Tuesday, January 21, Collins rallied to beat Russia’s Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova to earn the first Grand Slam singles semifinals appearance of her career. She holds a professional mark of 117-70 and holds the No. 35 ranking in the world.
