After last being on the air in 2015, HBO’s True Detective returns to television tonight with its season three premiere.
The episode, titled “The Great War and Modern Memory”, kicks off the eight-episode third season in the heart of the Ozarks, exploring a mystery “that deepens over decades and plays out in three separate time periods.”
The third season, which was written and partially directed by series creator Nic Pizzolatto, stars Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali in the lead role of detective Wayne Hays and Stephen Dorff as his detective partner Roland West.
