I doubt anyone is going to want to miss America’s Got Talent: The Champions that premieres soon but just in case I decided to live blog it. AGT has always brought out incredible talent but this is different. The Champions will bring back the best talents from past seasons in one big head to head competitions. 50 acts will perform throughout the season. Judges and Superfans will vote for who moves on and we will cover it all.
Follow along for frequent updates on all the performances.
Ten acts will perform and only two will be able to move on to the finals. Out of all of these winners, runners-up, and top tens from all around the world, the pressure is on. Mel B has the golden buzzer tonight, let’s see how she uses it.
The first ever America’s Got Talent winner is back. Her powerhouse vocals won her the top spot. She’s been through a lot since we’ve last seen her on the show. She almost lost the ability to sing due to a paralyzed vocal cord, but Ryan pushed through those odds and is determined to make her comeback.
Ryan is tackling a song we know well “Say Something” by A Great Big World. The aesthetics around her, are beautiful with the imagery of angel wings and feathers. Her vocals are even more powerful than before. Her control is impressive and those high notes she is hitting like no one’s business.
The judges can’t do anything but praise Bianca, and rightly so. She may have been nervous but she has grown and matured and it shows in her voice.
The Runners-up from season eleven is back and ready to show the world how their act has grown. The duo Thommy and Amelie invite the judges on stage to talk about their love lives. Simon is to pick a picture from a bunch of images about where he would want his dream date. Klum is to pick a candle. Both take their items and go back to the judges’ table.
Howie is being asked to write a gift he would either receive or give on his perfect date. Lastly, Mel B is a caretaker of a bejeweled box. Both then return to the tables to the excitement and curiosity of the judges.
Amelie guessed correctly that Klum picked the campfire scent, Simon chose Shangai for his date destination, and Mandel wrote down pants on his board. Mel B has a box and in it is remote to reveal a pre-recorded video. It turns out Amelie knew a while ago that Cowell, Klum, and Mandel would pick those exact items. Written on the top of a building in blue were the answers from the judges, astounding not just the judges but all of the audiences.
The Super Collies
Hero is back to dazzle us with his new tricks. Sarah and Hero have had a rough time before the show and even getting on the show. When they first came on the duo was homeless and no one seemed to believe in their dream and talent. However, Simon Cowell had a soft spot for this duo, so let’s see how they’ve improved.
They have choreographed a whole routine together that truly highlights Hero’s incredible jumps, movements, and tricks. Hero takes off Sarah’s coat, jumps off of her body, climbs onto her back, and even grabs the money and hides in a suitcase following the theme of the bank scene around them.
Watch their whole adorable routine. You have to see it to believe it.
Uzeyer Novruzov: Free Ladder Man
Novruzov is back from season ten. Everyone remembers him from his accident on live television. He fell from the top of his ladder and went to the hospital. Novruzov has promised to never touch the ladder again but will do it for the first time ever since the incident.
He starts off with a relatively small ladder. He amazes us with his tricks and flips off the ladder. Now he will use the one he fell off of in the finals.
Novruzov has done it!
He has conquered his own personal demons as well as stunning the crowd by balancing on top of the large ladder. Novruzov earned those cheers and admiration from the judges and audiences alike. He came prepared and his act shows it.
Barbolak made everyone smile and laugh in season 13. With Simon praising her comedy she made it all the way to the finals. Her bright personality and funny quips really helped her to stand out.
We start off strong. Barbolak walks off stage only to come back with a bright pink background and two men in suits escorting her in on either arm. Her routine kicks off with ear-to-ear smiles and laughs ringing in the crowd. With a background change that says Vicki’s Place with a trailer beside it.
The judges praised her performance. Mandel stated that she could make it due to the fact that she can possibly relate to the nation on a real level. Simon notes a boost in her confidence that takes her comedy to new heights and I must agree. Her newfound confidence gives her delivery more of an impact and kept me laughing the whole time. Brava Vicki Barbolak.
Alex Magala got his inspiration to start sword swallowing from America’s Got Talent. When he witnessed the performer Magala was dedicated to learn and practice the art and succeeded. He went on Russia’s Got Talent and won the show.
Magala has never done the act that he is about to perform. It is the reason he has returned and is determined to win.
He starts off by picking up the sword on the judges’ table. Not only does he swallow it but has Simon Cowell pull it out of his mouth. He goes back on stage and swallows the sword only to perform a flip with it in his mouth.
Magala then takes the sword dangling in the air and swallows it. He is then lifted up into the air as he hangs on with his hands and mouth. He then releases his hands to show him hanging on it with his teeth. When he goes back onto the ground he takes an even longer sword.
He climbs up a pole with the sword down his throat, stunning the audience as he is about to perform a drop from the pole. As he falls down with his leg around the pole it cuts to commercial, leaving me with my racing heart. You can’t cut out like that, at least they shouldn’t!
Magala stops inches from the ground.
He has done a feat no one has ever done, or at least not many can do! Impressive, stunning, there are no words to truly express how intense it was.
The winners of season four’s Australia’s Got Talent is here. They are a dance group that used to perform on the street before they made it onto the show. Now they have elevated from dance and are also incorporating music into their routine.
They are all singing as well as performing a well-choreographed routine. The cheers in the crowd are deafening especially from the women in the audience.
All the boys are in perfect sync with each other as they sing and dance. It almost feels as though I’m watching a concert of the Justice Crew rather than America’s Got Talent. The audience was dancing and jumping around as the judges watch with smiles. They received nothing but praise and really they earned it.
Susan Boyle was on season three of Britain’s Got Talent. At first, the audience seemed skeptical when she went on stage but once she opened her mouth that all changed. She became a fan favorite quickly and was the runner-up of the show. She was beloved and cheered on by many fans.
She is singing “Wild Horses” from the Rolling Stones.
Boyle is utterly stunning her dress and she is putting on a moving performance. Her voice is smooth, controlled and seems to be almost ethereal as it captivates the judges and makes the audience cheer. Her control is amazing and Boyle looks to be completely in her element.
Mel B has given the golden buzzer, Susan Boyle is moving on!
She is a legend on the Got Talent series, known from every country. Mel B was only happy to give her something in return for her beautiful talent. Now only one spot remains, it’s up to the Superfans to decide who will move on alongside Boyle. Who will it be?
Sophie Dossi returns to mystify us with her contortions. She made it far into the finals when she was on the show but ultimately fell short. Now she is determined to do her best and go for the gold.
Dossi starts off proving her incredible flexibility and then goes right into the ring. Her acrobatic skills are second to none as she hovers high into the air with only the ring to support her. She holds on tight and performs dizzying spins that would make anyone tipsy and nauseous. Incredible can’t even come close to describing her performance.
Dossi’s act was a feat of athleticism that not many can achieve. She truly outdid herself with this one.
The stand-up comedian from season 12 is back. This runner-up is determined to prove his talent and show the judges how his comedy has evolved. He believes he can take home the gold and show everyone new material and why he is a fantastic comedian.
Lawson starts off strong with a few quips and even a comedic flirtatious comment towards Mel B. But now it’s time to start the show.
I can’t stop laughing. His energy is infectious and his confidence just flows off of him. His inflections are great and the comedic timing is perfect. I can’t get enough, personally and his passion for his craft really shows with each joke. He builds off of his previous joke to bring it all home.
The audience and judges could not stop laughing the entire time. Mel B even comments that if she still had the golden buzzer it would go to Lawson.
It’s almost time. Next up we will know which of these nine talented people are moving on to the finals.
It’s the top three!
Bianca Ryan, Preacher Lawson, and Sophie Dossi have won the hearts of the Superfans, but it’s not over yet.
In third place is Sophie Dossi.
The Contestant Moving on Is…
Congratulations to all of the other acts, they all did phenomenally. There’s a reason they were asked to come back onto the shows, they are all champions of America’s Got Talent.
I don’t know how the next episode is going to top this, but we’ll have to wait and see.
