Someone has begun dubbing various songs over Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s ‘Breakfast Club’ dancing video from college and the result are hilarious.
On the day she was set to be sworn into Congress, video of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez re-enacting dance moves from the classic film The Breakfast Club set to the tune of Phoenix’s “Lisztomania.”
And as it always goes on the wild wild west of the internet, someone saw the moment as an opportunity to go viral themselves and created the Twitter account @aoc_dances, which is an account dedicated solely to dubbing other classic tunes over the video. The gimmick evidently worked, as the account has over 10,000 followers in less than a day.
Whether it be Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”, Earth, Wind & Fire’s “September”, “Toto” by Africa, or “Mr. Brightside” by The Killers, the video just seems to vibe with every genre of music.
As for Ocasio-Cortez, she didn’t let the release of this video or Republicans booing her get her down, as she was all smiles as she was sworn into Congress on Thursday, January 3. She will also be featured in the 60 Minutes episode that will air on Sunday, January 6.
