Real Madrid is favored in this contest but both teams have the ability to score goals in bunches. Expect this game to be extremely entertaining as a result.
Real Madrid’s success is due to its star forward Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo is known for being one of the best soccer players of all-time and he has lived up to that reputation in this year’s Champions League. In just 12 games, Ronaldo has scored 15 goals and has also assisted on two goals. Real Madrid is used to playing in these monumental games and are looking for its third straight Champions League championship. Expect Ronaldo to play extremely well if Real Madrid plans on winning this game.
Surprisingly, Liverpool made it all the way to the Champions League Final. After finishing fourth in the English Premier League, Liverpool now has the chance to win culminate its year on a high note. Leading Liverpool is star forward Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian forward already was named the Professional Footballers’ Association Player of the Year a month ago due to his phenomenal play this year. Domestically, Salah led the EPL in goals with 32 and his scoring prowess translated to the Champions League as well. In 12 Champions League games, Salah has ten goals and four assists. If Liverpool plans on upsetting Real Madrid, Salah will need to have a great game.
As for my prediction, I have to side with Real Madrid. This team is more experienced and knows how to win these Champions League Finals. It is very rare for a team to win three consecutive championships but I believe that Ronaldo is one of the best players of all-time and that Liverpool’s inconsistent defense will be unable to stop him.
