Things got a little interesting during the undercard of Saturday’s boxing event headlined by Adonis Stevenson and Badou Jack. Before Stevenson and Jack squared off for Stevenson’s WBC and lineal light-heavyweight titles a fan caused a minor delay and forced security to act swiftly.
During a preliminary bout between Mikael Zewski and Diego Luque, a fan attempted to storm the ring. That is when security had to wrestle the man to the ground which caused a brief delay of approximately five minutes.
Mike Coppinger of the Los Angeles Times shared ringside footage of the incident involving a “mountain of a man.”
Check it out:
I’ve been covering boxing for at least eight years and I’ve never seen anything like this. Fan rushed the ring during Zewski-Luque and fight was stopped for a good five minutes while security tried to stop this mountain of a man. Once the fan was under control, the action resumed inside of the ring.
