Lauren Vizza is the reigning Miss Louisiana USA 2018 and will be representing her home state at the upcoming Miss USA pageant. The 28-year-old Shreveport native succeeded 2017 winner Bethan Trahan. Vizza, who was previously Miss Louisiana 2012, is looking to get her state back in the Top 10 for the first time since Brittany Guidry finished as third runner-up in 2014.
During her everyday life, Vizza serves as the morning news anchor at KTAL NBC 6 in her hometown. She graduated from Louisiana Tech University and was a member of the Sigma Kappa sorority where she remains a president of the local alumni chapter.
As part of her community outreach, Vizza is involved with the Junior League of Shreveport-Bossier and works on a literacy project with the public library system to encourage teenagers to read.
She also works with the March of Dimes, Children’s Miracle Network, the Louisiana Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Health, and several other agencies around the state.
