Hannah Brown is the reigning Miss Alabama USA 2018 and the Tuscaloosa native is ready for the big stage at Miss USA. The 23-year-old succeeded 2017 winner Baylee Smith. Dating back to 2010, Miss Alabama USA has finished in the top 20 seven of eight years, with five finishes inside of the top 10. Brown will be hoping to continue that trend.
She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Alabama with a bachelor’s degree in Communication and Information Sciences. She currently works as an interior designer.
Brown hopes to use her platform as Miss Alabama USA “to start an open conversation about the freedom to deal with mental health challenges and the importance of forgiveness.” She draws on her past which included a childhood illness, the loss of loved ones to homicide, and anxiety and depression.
Through it all, she has persevered and hopes to continue being an inspiration for young women everywhere.

Miss USA takes place Monday, May 21 at Hirsch Memorial Coliseum in Shreveport, Louisiana. The pageant will air live on FOX. The Miss Universe pageant will take place at a yet-to-be-determined date.
